SAFETY FIRST: Protective gloves and eyewear are recommended at this point.
Look over the brake disc for damage. Measure the thickness of the disc with a micrometer and check the runout with a dial gauge. Replace the brake disc as needed.
(Rear Brake Disc Thickness Service Limit: 4.5 mm or 0.18 in)
(Rear Brake Disc Runout Service Limit: 0.3 mm or 0.012 in)
Special Tools-
Micrometer (0 - 25 mm): 09900-20205
Dial Gauge (1/100 mm): 09900-20606
Magnetic Stand: 09900-20701
Remove the rear wheel. See the Rear Wheel topic for more information.
Remove the four rear brake disc mounting bolts with a 6 mm Allen.
Remove the brake disc from the wheel.
Make sure the brake disc is clean and line it up with the wheel hub.
Apply a thread locking agent to the threads of the brake disc bolts. Install the four brake disc bolts and torque them to specification with a 6 mm Allen.
(Rear Brake Disc Bolt Torque: 23 N-m or 16.5 lb-ft)
